Flowline Specialists COO joins GlobalScot Network

The chief operating officer of Scottish energy equipment manufacturer and service provider Flowline Specialists has joined the ranks of Scotland’s respected international business network GlobalScot.

Graeme Chalmers was formally welcomed into the network by the Scottish Government’s Minister for Trade, Investment and Innovation, Ivan McKee MSP, at a networking event in Abu Dhabi last night [Monday, November 11]. The evening reception was organised by Scottish Development International as the United Arab Emirates city welcomes thousands of visitors to ADIPEC, an annual oil and gas industry conference and exhibition.

GlobalScot is a diverse worldwide network of business leaders, entrepreneurs and executives with a connection to Scotland. The group comprises of around 650 members based in over 50 countries around the globe. It aims to support Scottish businesses that are looking to grow internationally, with GlobalScots providing advice, insight and market intelligence to aid growth and entry into new countries and regions.

Headquartered in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, Flowline Specialists operates internationally, providing equipment and personnel to manage flexible pipe, cable and umbilical handling and deployment projects in the oil and gas, subsea and renewable energy industries.

The firm has undertaken work for clients across Europe, in North America, Australia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. In 2015, it established a subsidiary, Flowline Specialists DMCC, in Dubai, which is led by Mr Chalmers, who also spearheads the company’s international sales activity.

The announcement of Mr Chalmers’ admittance into the GlobalScot network coincides with Flowline Specialists exhibiting at ADIPEC this week. The leading oil and gas conference and exhibition is a key event in the Middle East for the company, where it continues to experience growing demand for its range of cable handling and deployment equipment and services.

Flowline Specialists is exhibiting on stand CN35 at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi, which runs from Monday, 11 until Thursday, November 14.
