As 2025 drew to a close, Miles of Smiles reached month 7 of its 18-month journey — and what began as a personal challenge has grown into a powerful example of community-driven impact across the North-east.

Despite facing a severe flu during the final weeks of the year, the campaign continued — adapting with lighter runs and cycling, proving that resilience, consistency and purpose matter more than perfection.

December became a defining month — not just for miles covered, but for meaning created.

Regional Recognition & Business Engagement

Miles of Smiles closed the year with significant regional visibility:

These platforms helped amplify conversations around mental health, cancer support, grief, inclusion and resilience — values increasingly recognised as essential to healthy workplaces and communities.

Community & Partnership Highlights

December also showcased the power of collaboration:

  • Final Miles of Smiles run of 2025 as a Panto Dame, supported by Diamonté Productions
  • Engagement with Aberdeen parkrun, Albyn School fairs, nursery events and Duthie junior parkrun
  • Partnerships with Cycling Without Age Scotland – Kemnay & Inverurie
  • First TV appearance on That’s TV Aberdeen

These moments reinforced how local organisations, schools, charities and businesses can work together to generate meaningful social value.
