The very best new drama, musical theatre, family entertainment and world-class musicians will be winging their way to the Granite City as a sensational new season of shows is announced today by Aberdeen Performing Arts.
The National Theatre’s stunning stage adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Ocean at the End of the Lane (August, 22-26 2023), comedy murder mystery Death Drop: Back in the Habit (January 23-28, 2023) and West End classic Relatively Speaking (January 31 – February 4, 2023) will all add a dramatic touch to His Majesty’s Theatre, while Annie (May 23 – 27, 2023) and Buddy the Musical (March 28 – April 1, 2023) join recently announced West End heavyweights SIX, The Bodyguard and Shrek the Musical in a musical theatre offering that will leave fans spoilt for choice.
A stunning array of world class musicians will perform in the Music Hall including four-time Grammy Award winner Angelique Kidjo (March 21, 2023) with her blend of West African traditions and elements of American R&B, funk and jazz, the stunning Americana vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens (April 27, 2023), and stellar pianist Alice Sara Ott (November 29, 2022) and her unique ‘Echoes Of Life’ project. A packed orchestral season includes the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (March 23, 2023) performing John Williams’ iconic film scores including Star Wars, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Jurassic Park.
Families will be delighted by this year’s swashbuckling panto, The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan (December 3, 2022 – January 8, 2023) and the much-loved Lemon Tree Christmas show, The Enormous Christmas Turnip, while in the Music Hall’s Big Sky Studio, Kissing Linford Christie (October 26, 2023) tells the story of one girl’s journey to Olympic success.

A truly stunning array of talent that we can’t wait to welcome to Aberdeen.”
