Cairngorm Bothies is excited to announce that their vision for the introduction of a provision for secure bike storage and a bike washing area has become a reality thanks to a grant from Opportunity North East's North East Adventure Tourism program. The Adventure Tourism Facilities funding will allow the Cairngorm Bothies team to start the enhancement at 2 of the 12 bothies. This safe and secure self- catering accommodation development will offer their adventure seeking guests' peace of mind during their stay at these award winning off grid bothies.
The new facility will cater directly to the growing popularity of cycling tourism in the Cairngorms National Park and for guests visiting the neighbouring Tarland Trails. Aberdeenshire is an area rich in trails that mountain bike enthusiasts of all levels of experience, skills and age can explore.
"We are incredibly grateful to Opportunity North East for recognising the potential of this project," said Dr Gordon Drummond at Cairngorm Bothies. “The support from NEAT’s Project manager Will Clarke allows us to make a positive impact on both tourism and the local community” We look forward to bringing this exciting initiative to life!"
This new bike storage facility aligns perfectly with Cairngorm Bothies' commitment to providing an eco-friendly and active holiday experience in the heart of the Cairngorms.
