One of the North-east’s largest annual one-day business showcase events has been hailed as a resounding success – with plans now in place to take the format to Angus.
With the theme: “Innov8,” the eighth annual Granite Expo – in association with Genesis Personnel – took place at Aberdeen’s Double Tree by Hilton Aberdeen Treetops on Tuesday, November 27. Billed as the area’s largest event of its kind by number of exhibitors, it brought together a broad spectrum of more than 100 businesses ranging from small start-ups and SMEs to global operators with links to the region.
In addition to abundant opportunities for networking, cross-selling, knowledge sharing the day also offered business-related seminars, a networking café, a media mall and a quiet zone for one-to-one meetings.
Speaking at the opening of the event were Aberdeen Lord Provost Barney Crockett, Aberdeenshire Provost Bill Howatson, RGU Professor of Entrepreneurship Charles Skene and local businessman Gavin Henry who used the opportunity to launch a new addition to his suite of SureVoIP products.
The competition for the best stand was won by Tartan Touch with highly commended awards going to The Teasmith and Double Tree by Hilton Aberdeen Treetops.
Now, in response to regional demand, plans are now afoot to stage the inaugural Dundee & Angus Expo at Dundee’s Best Western Invercarse Hotel in February 2019.
Granite PR Founder and Managing Director and Granite Expo creator Brett Jackson commented: “We have been talking about expanding the horizons of Granite Expo for a while now, and 2019 is exactly the right time for us to do this.

He added: “We look forward to working with business from all sectors in that area to help them take their story to the new audience which will be created by this new event.”
