An Aberdeen-based chartered accountancy firm’s commitment to staff development has been further underlined after a member of the team scooped a prestigious award.
During a glittering ceremony at P&J Live on Friday, November 14th, Hall Morrice Audit Partner Louise Smith was named winner of the Women in Finance Award of the BWC Aberdeen Athena Awards 2025.
Louise joined the Hall Morrice team in 2007, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with the firm and progressing to her current role in April 2025. Her passion for supporting clients across a diverse range of sectors equals her commitment to internal progression and mentoring for colleagues interested in following a similar path. Louise is also dedicated to supporting the wider industry and sits on the ICAS Grampian Area Network Committee.
The BWC Aberdeen Athena Awards are hailed as: “a celebration of the incredible women entrepreneurs and leaders who are making a significant impact in the business community of Aberdeen.” They seek to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate accomplishments and inspire others.
Commenting on her success, Louise said: “It is a privilege to win this award, not least to illustrate the excellent opportunities that exist within our sector and to show what is possible with hard work, dedication and the right employer support.”
Hall Morrice Operations Director Ian Mackie added: “Louise has been a key member of staff for a long time, and we are incredibly proud of all that she continues to achieve. I have no doubt that her success will go on to inspire others both within the company and in the broader finance industry.”
