The Harry Fraser Catering team were proud to play a major role in the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) Fundraising Dinner, held on Saturday, October 18 at Thainstone Exchange, Inverurie.
The event brought together 430 guests to celebrate Scotland’s rich farming heritage and raise funds for the Society’s continued support of the agricultural community.
A celebration of Scottish food and community
Guests enjoyed a menu that highlighted some of the finest local produce the North-east has to offer:
- Native Hebridean Smoked Scottish Salmon with Peterhead Langoustines, salad leaves, lemon dressing, and a warm bread roll
- Roast Fillet of Aberdeenshire Beef with haggis, rich roast jus, served with seasonal vegetables and potatoes
- Delice with Raspberries and raspberry ripple ice cream
- Tea and Coffee, served with fudge dipped in chocolate and shortbread
All ingredients were generously sponsored by local suppliers, reflecting the collaboration and community spirit that define Scotland’s food and farming industry.
Teamwork at its best
Behind the scenes, our chefs and service team spent weeks planning and five full days preparing for the dinner. From early deliveries and meticulous prep to plating over 1,200 dishes, it was a true team effort.
Pat Machray, RHASS President, shared his praise for the team: “We were most impressed with Harry Fraser Catering. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments. The portion sizes were generous, the whole three-course meal was excellent and, despite catering for 430 people, the steak was cooked to perfection and consistently brilliant across all tables.
"Those with food allergies and intolerances were very well catered for, and they too were complimentary of their meals. The Harry Fraser front-of-house team were discreet, efficient, and professional. Their booking system for drinks and specific food requests was seamless, it all contributed to the smooth running of the evening.”
A record-breaking fundraiser
The evening was a resounding success, raising around £250,000 for the RHASS President’s Initiative. Funds will go toward making Aberdeenshire shine at the 2026 Royal Highland Show, as well as supporting chosen charities, Young Farmers Big Build, RSABI, and RHASS. As part of the fundraising efforts, Harry Fraser Catering also donated an auction prize, a four-course meal for ten people, cooked and served in the winner’s own home.
