Andrew Ferguson, partner at Hutcheon Mearns, has undertaken a mammoth challenge in aid of the Archie Foundation: to run the Edinburgh Marathon, Balmoral 10k, Stonehaven half marathon and Great Aberdeen Run.

Andrew only began running in 2016 and despite the hills, blisters and a potential stress fracture, he decided to undertake this massive challenge when Hutcheon Mearns nominated the Archie Foundation as its staff charity for 2017.

Andrew said: “A close family member has received fantastic care at the Royal Aberdeen Children Hospital in Aberdeen during the past year. On the back of this our business, Hutcheon Mearns, has selected The Archie Foundation as our chosen charity for 2017. Each year, Archie impacts the lives of over 175,000 children, providing much needed support and assistance. I am delighted to be able to support this charity in all its amazing work.”

Having now completed three of the runs and with only the Great Aberdeen run to go (scheduled for August 27, 2017), Andrew was thrilled to handover a cheque for £1,625 to the Archie Foundation.

With one more race to go, Andrew’s Just Giving page is still open. To support Andrew, please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-ferguson19 and click ‘Donate’.

The Archie Foundation

Every year the Archie Foundation impact on the healthcare of nearly 200,000 sick children. They buy specialist equipment, support families, create amazing hospital environments, enhance staff training, buy toys, fund research, provide specialist staff and respond in emergencies.

Archie exist to make a big difference for local children when they are sick, in hospital or in need of long-term healthcare. They also take skills learned in Scotland to develop children\'s surgical programmes in East Africa through their ARCHIE Global Surgery Programme.
