With this week’s passing of Sky new presenter Dermot Murnaghan, tragically only a year after being found with stage 4 prostate cancer, and the very public diagnosis of Jeremy Clarkson with the same disease, Integrity Medical (an Integrity QHSE company) is relaunching it’s push for employers invest in PSA testing for their male employees.

Integrity Medical states the PSA process takes no more than 15 minutes, with results given on the spot, and the Queens Road-based firm is only charging £30 per test, all of which are carried out by registered nurses. This was inspired by Sir Chris Hoy’s inspiring event at the Aberdeen Music Hall in September to discuss his own terminal cancer.

Integrity QHSE’s Managing Director told us, “I cannot thank the Chamber enough for hosting the Chris Hoy event, and Sandy Wood from TWMA for inviting me. It was a game changer, and as I sat in the Music Hall listening to Chris, I decided that Integrity QHSE and Integrity Medical can do more in the fight against cancer, and especially prostate cancer”.

Under current NHS guidelines, routine prostate screening is not automatically offered, but those over the age of 50 can request a PSA test from their GP. Sir Chris Hoy was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer at age 47 after a shoulder injury revealed it had spread to his bones. Integrity Medical recommend tests for all males 40 years and older.
