IntrospeXion is delighted to announce that its founder, Shabnum Hanif, has been awarded the Athena Award for Health, Wellbeing and Lifestyle by BWC Aberdeen.

The award recognises outstanding contribution to the wellbeing of organisations and individuals across the region, highlighting innovation, compassion and meaningful impact in the field of psychological health.

Since establishing IntrospeXion, Shabnum has become a leading presence in workplace mental health, particularly within offshore, energy and high-risk industrial environments. Their work centres on delivering timely, evidence-based psychological support, from crisis response after critical incidents to neurodiversity pathways and leadership wellbeing programmes.

This achievement also reflects the strength and dedication of the growing IntrospeXion team, including Dr Neelam Zia (who leads on both corporate clinics offshore & ADHD and autism assessment services) and Kelley Allen, an experienced counsellor supporting both individual clients and corporate organisations. Their combined expertise continues to expand the accessibility and quality of psychological care across Scotland and the North East of England.

Speaking about the award, Shabnum said: “Receiving the Athena Award for Health, Wellbeing & Lifestyle is an incredible honour. IntrospeXion was built with the belief that psychological support should be accessible, proactive, and grounded in real-world experience.

"This award reflects not only that mission but also recognises the exceptional team around me. Dr Neelam Zia and Kelley Allen are integral to everything we do, they bring individual expertise and solid commitment to the people we support. I’m truly grateful to Karen Smith and the team at BWC Aberdeen for this recognition.”

This award underscores IntrospeXion’s ongoing dedication to improving wellbeing and mental health support for workers in complex, demanding environments and advancing these initiatives across industries.
