Union Square is pleased to welcome the newest eatery to their F&B offering, with itsu opening their doors on July 1. Speaking on the upcoming opening, itsu’s Chief Customer Officer Neil Miller comments ‘Aberdeen is a exciting step on our eat beautiful crusade. The beautiful 78-cover restaurant, our second in Scotland, is perfectly positioned for eat in and takeaway. We see record breaking numbers of customers enjoying our Asian-inspired supermarket range in Aberdeen so look forward to bringing our freshly made hot offering to Union Square.'
The ‘eat beautiful’ menu offers 52 dishes - sushi, dumplings, bao, hot noodles & rice bowls – the majority of dishes, made throughout the day, are less than 500 calories & under £7. The kitchen is overseen by a specialist team of rice and fish pros.
Ahead of the official opening, itsu are inviting their new neighbours to a first look lunch on Thursday June 30 between 12pm – 1pm. Favourites like veggie sushi collection, super salmon light and klean’katsu rice bowl will be on the house to the first 500 visitors. The recent opening in Edinburgh saw first look lunches go viral with locals queuing for miles.
The new opening offers 40 new jobs to the local community. Last year itsu led the hospitality industry with a 11% pay increase to new and existing team members meaning a minimum of £10.40 an hour.
Half an hour before close every day itsu holds a half price sale, with all sushi and salads available at 50% off. This helps eliminate food waste.
