On Sunday, March 25, Jackie Stephen Racing held an open morning at their racing stables near Inverurie. The event attracted over 100 people. The visitors had the opportunity to look round the yard and view the facilities. They then watched three lots of horses working up the gallops which was followed by a parade of all the horses and the opportunity to speak with both Jackie and Patrick as well as other horse racing enthusiasts. “We were delighted to have such a large turnout today” said Jackie “it just shows how much interest there is in National Hunt Racing in this area
Jackie Stephen Racing is a family run business which has been established since 2015. With 13 horses currently on the yard, they operate 3 syndicate horses with the potential for 2 more, from horses currently on the yard. They predominately race within Scotland and North of England, due to location, but have been seen to travel further to courses such as Weatherby and Market Rasen. Jackie believes in a very hands approach and learning what makes each individual horse. She states “we believe in keeping them fit, healthy in body and happy in mind”. The yard has seen a number of successes over the seasons with a high percentage of horses finishing in the placings.
There is plans to expand the yard to between 15 and 20 horses, with a build of five new stables starting soon. They also have an application in process to allow them to train horses on the flat as well as Nation Hunt, making them a dual purpose yard. If anyone is interested in syndicates or ownership opportunities please do not hesitate to contact Patrick on 07887 902733 or email jackiestephen123@hotmail.com.
