KR Group Scotland is pleased to share that Gayle Roddie has joined the business as senior quantity surveyor, bringing with her more than two decades of hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Based at KR Group’s headquarters in Aberdeenshire, Gayle will take the lead on commercial operations across the company’s steel and cladding divisions.

Her responsibilities include overseeing estimates, returning tender prices for a wide range of local and national projects, and managing commercial delivery from tender through to final account. Gayle also plays an important role in mentoring university placement students within the business - helping them develop valuable skills and real-world industry insight.

Speaking about her appointment, Gayle said: “I’m delighted to join KR Group’s skilled and forward-thinking team. The company’s reputation for quality and innovation really stood out to me. I’m looking forward to applying my commercial experience to support strong project performance and long-term growth.”

Gayle’s career began as a trainee quantity surveyor with a chartered QS practice in Aberdeen, where she spent seven years honing her skills in private practice. She then transitioned to a local building contractor, working there for eight years before moving on to a national contractor.

During that time, she was site-based on the prominent Marischal Square project in Aberdeen for three years. She also contributed to the successful delivery of the new Stoneywood School in Aberdeen.

Following a six-year career break to focus on family, Gayle has returned to the construction industry with renewed energy - joining KR Group as they continue to grow their presence as a specialist subcontractor in steel, cladding, and metalwork.

Nicola Fraser, business director at KR Group, commented: “Gayle’s appointment marks a strong step forward for KR Group. Her commercial knowledge, practical mindset, and passion for the industry align perfectly with our direction as a business. She’s a valuable addition to the team, and we’re excited to have her on board.”
