Leading steel and cladding construction business, KR Group, has appointed Stuart Cartney as their Operations Manager, marking a significant addition to the senior team.

Stuart has 28 years’ experience in the construction industry, starting out as a steel erector and fabricator/welder before embarking on site manager positions. It was KR Group’s growth and recent significant contract wins which attracted Stuart to joining the business.

In his new role, Stuart will oversee site operations across Scotland, including project planning, labour coordination for each project, and equipment allocation. A significant part of the Operations Manager role will involve fostering client relationships and ensuring adherence to KR Group’s renowned standards of excellence in project execution.

Stuart is looking forward to the new challenge. He said: “I have known KR Group’s Managing Director, Kenny Robertson, since we were worked together at another steel company when we were teenagers, and we have always got on well. When he told me about the latest developments at his company, I was really impressed, and I am excited to be part of the team. I enjoy a challenge and finding solutions to any problems which may be encountered in an operational environment within the construction industry.”

KR Group’s Business Director, Nicola Fraser, added: “Stuart is well-known and respected within the construction industry. He seamlessly manages to juggle commercial management with site-based activity, which is a very welcome blend of skills here at KR Group. Kenny and I are delighted to have him on board as part of the senior management team.”
