Corporate teams are being given a last chance to take part in a 60ft abseil to support local sick children.

The abseil takes place on Saturday, August 18 and will see participants step off the roof of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital before rappelling safely to the ground.

The event is in aid of The ARCHIE Foundation, the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital. The charity raises money to fund ‘extras’ not provided by the NHS including specialist medical equipment, advanced staff training, child-friendly rooms and hospital spaces, and emergency grants to support children and their families during a long-term or emergency hospital admission.

Claire Bush, Head of National Events at the charity, said: “We’ve run the ARCHIE Abseil for a number of years and it has always proved to be a very popular event for individuals and corporate teams.

“It’s a great opportunity to challenge yourself for a good cause. There’s always a really fun atmosphere on the day so remember to take along your family, friends and colleagues to cheer you on – either from the ground or from up on the roof beside you.”

Registration for the event costs just £10 and can be done here.
