Limited spaces left for Maggie’s Culture Crawl event

Maggie’s Aberdeen’s third annual Culture Crawl has just a small number of spaces left. The walkers will start at Aberdeen Beach Leisure Centre on June 21, and walk 10 miles around the city in aid of the cancer support charity.

Each year Maggie’s Aberdeen creates a new route exploring some of Aberdeen’s most iconic landmarks and this year is no different. With Aberdeen now leading in terms of both participation and fundraising across all 14 Culture Crawls held nationwide, Maggie’s is looking to set the bar even higher, later this month.

Following the format of previous years, the route and locations will remain a closely guarded secret until the event. At each venue along the way, the participants will enjoy captivating cultural performances, live music, and delicious local food and drink options.

This year’s Culture Crawl has already achieved last year’s total number of sign-ups with over 577 walkers set to take to the streets of Aberdeen. There are limited spots available for anyone who is interested in having a fun-filled night while raising vital funds for the cancer support charity.

Brodies LLP continues to be the main sponsor of the event for the third annual year.

Paula Cormack, centre fundraising manager for Maggie’s Aberdeen, said:

“Following the accomplishment of last year’s walk which raised an incredible £115,000 we are excited to see what this year brings.

“The Maggie’s team are really blown away by the success of this year’s sign ups so far. As we are almost reaching capacity for the number of walkers, anyone who is interested in taking part should sign up as soon as possible to secure their spot. It’s going to be great!

“Whether you want to take part or fancy volunteering on the night, there is something for everyone.”

Registration is still open for Culture Crawl Aberdeen 2019 -http://www.maggiescentres.org/ccaberdeen - However, spaces are now limited. The registration fee remains at just £20 and Maggie’s request that everyone needs to try and raise as much as possible to help fund Maggie’s vital cancer support programme.

Participants must be aged 16 and over (with under 18s accompanied by an adult). This event is suitable for all abilities.

Maggie’s is also looking for volunteers to help on the night and invite potential volunteers to sign up here - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/maggies-culture-crawl-2019-scotland-volunteer-form-registration-55571952205
