A world leading drone manufacturer with more than 10 million social media followers has recognised the work of a North-east content creator.

The global company DJI shared Glen Cairns’ stunning aerial footage after he captured a rare sighting of a herd of more than 70 deer galloping through the River Dee at Mar Lodge Estate last weekend Saturday, March 11.

The video has so far attracted more than 9,000 views worldwide.

The self-employed Westhill based videographer, who has seen a number of his videos in the past go viral, has a passion for capturing Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire landmarks from a new perspective.

Glen explained how he managed to capture the ‘Attenborough like video’ with his drone.

“Whilst recording the deer jumping over the river, I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing with my own eyes. I carry my drone everywhere I go whether I am on a job or on a holiday, my profession is also very much my hobby.”

The former Aberdeen Football Club employee specialises in creating unique content for clients across a range of sectors in the north-east, and recently documented the spectacular scenes from the city’s Nuart festival from the sky.

“I take great pride in highlighting Aberdeenshire’s stunning landscape to a local and global platform whenever the opportunity arises.”

“I love working with businesses large and small and taking on a challenge with every project whether it requires several shooters for a week or just myself for a couple of hours in a day.

“Since getting into videography full time back in 2020 I haven’t dreaded a Monday morning since, and I am very grateful and fortunate to be in that position.”
