As part of their celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, fine-food delivery company Donald Russell promised to donate £5 for every sale they made during the four-day event. Following this, they are now set to give £10,040 to The Prince’s Trust.
As a Royal Warrant holder for almost 40 years, the company celebrated the momentous occasion with new, exclusive products and recipes as well as this promise to donate to the charity which was founded by the Prince of Wales in 1976 to help improve the lives of disadvantaged young people throughout the country.
They have now helped over 1,000,000 young people, many facing serious issues such as homelessness or who have been in trouble with the law. They have offered hundreds of free courses, grants and mentoring opportunities to inspire them to build their confidence and start a fulfilling career.
This forms a part of the company’s ongoing commitment to being involved in the community and supporting local charities as well as those further afield. They have so far raised over £28,000 for the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund from customer donations. Earlier this year, a team of Donald Russell staff helped raise over £18,000 for The Prince’s Trust, through a variety of different fund-raising events.
Ken Clow, CEO, has said: “Being a socially responsible company is integral to who we are and being able to donate such a good amount to such a worthy cause, was a great way to mark this once-in-a-lifetime celebration. We’re really proud of our amazing customers and everyone who worked to make this happen.”
