Customer donations have allowed Donald Russell to collect over £25,000 for the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal so far.
Based in Inverurie, fine-food delivery company Donald Russell have been collecting donations towards the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal since the end of April this year and are pleased to announce they have now raised over £25,000.
The company added a box to their online checkout offering customers the chance to round up their order or choose an amount to donate if they’d like to. People ordering by telephone are also being given the chance to add a donation. This is on top of a donation from the company.
While Donald Russell expected some of their customers to add small donations to their orders, they’ve been impressed by the level of generosity that they’ve seen. Some customers have added donations of £500 and even £1,000 to their orders. All of this has combined to make the incredible total – which continues to increase.
This forms a part of the company’s ongoing commitment to being involved in the community and supporting local charities as well as those further afield. Earlier this year, a team of Donald Russell staff helped raise over £18,000, through a variety of different fund-raising events, to support the work of the Prince’s Trust.
Ken Clow, Donald Russell CEO, has said: “We’re so proud of all our customers who’ve donated as well as all the staff who have worked to make it happen. We’ve all been looking for a way that we can help with the terrible situation in Ukraine, and we’re glad we’ve been able to get involved in this way.”
