A leading Granite City hotel has been named as a regional finalist in a Scotland-wide awards ceremony.
Macdonald Norwood Hall is the only city-based venue to be shortlisted for the Wedding Venue Region – Aberdeen & Grampian category at the 2017 Scottish VOWS Awards.
Founded in 2005, the Scottish VOWS Awards recognises companies within the wedding industry which deliver the highest standard of customer service.
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a black-tie ceremony on Monday, November 20, at the Double Tree Hilton Glasgow Central.
Ivan Franssen, general manager at Macdonald Norwood Hall, commented: “We are thrilled to be named as a finalist in this year’s Scottish VOWS Awards and it’s a testament to the hard work of our staff, as they continue to go above and beyond for every one of our guests that choose Macdonald Norwood Hall for their special day.
“We are up against some tough competition, but are very proud to have reached this stage and, as the only hotel from Aberdeen shortlisted in this category, hope to do the whole city proud on the night.”
Julie Love, wedding sales manager at Macdonald Norwood Hall, added: “We are extremely pleased with this recognition and to be a finalist in the category for Wedding Venue Region – it really is a dream come true.
“Our team takes enormous pride in giving our wedding clients a day to remember. It’s fantastic that they are being credited for their passion and commitment to giving guests a memorable experience.”
Built in 1881 on the site of the 15th century Pitfodels Castle, Macdonald Norwood Hall is Aberdeen’s country house in the city and offers 73 luxury bedrooms surrounded by breathtaking Scottish scenery.
Located within easy reach of Aberdeen city centre, the hotel boasts state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities and is perfect for business and leisure guests with family events including weddings catered for all year round.
In 2015, Macdonald Norwood Hall celebrated a hat-trick of prestigious honours as part of the Scottish Hotel Awards. The venue was named conference hotel of the year and wedding hotel of the year, while Kenny McMillan won executive chef of the year.
