What opportunities are there for businesses from locally produced food and drink? This is the question an informative and interactive workshop in Macduff at the end of the month hopes to answer.
A series of speakers and workshops aims to connect local businesses who produce food and drink to those who buy, cook, serve, sell and distribute it. Food will also be on offer, to allow a taste of some of the best Aberdeenshire can provide.
There will be speakers from a cross section of groups and organisations, including one opportunity North-east, Connect Local, Visit Aberdeenshire and a case study from Wayne Stewart of the Knowes Hotel.
This will be paired with advice, inspiration, information and an opportunity to network.
Banff and Buchan Area committee chair, Andy Kille, said: “I’m pleased to see an event of this nature taking place in the north. It is important to recognise the significant contribution that locally produced food and drink can and does have on our economy.
“Focusing on our unique local products gives our area strength to support the local economy and futureproof our area.”
Vice Chair Michael Roy added: “I’m glad that an event of this nature is taking place in Macduff. Both Banff and Macduff Regeneration Action Plans have a focus on locally produced food and drink, and to see work beginning to support these businesses and connections in the area is a great step forwards.”
Tickets for the event, which takes place at the Knowes Hotel from 11am-2pm on May 28, are available through Eventbrite: http://bit.ly/MACfnd
