Marcliffe, Aberdeen's five-star luxury hotel, has featured in The Times' list of the "best places to eat and drink in Scotland this week".
The piece, which highlights some of the country's most popular and fashionable spots for a bite, primarily focuses on the Central Belt, but Marcliffe's recent £5.5million glass-domed brasserie Skylark, along with new chef and menu, caught its attention.
A refreshed seasonal menu launched in May, under the guidance of newly appointed Executive Chef, Alan Clarke.
Expectations are high for the 130-seater brasserie as Clarke puts his own stamp on it, shaped in part by customer feedback.
The Times article states: "Exciting news reaches us from Aberdeen, where the swish five-star Marcliffe hotel has a new chef — and a new menu to celebrate.
"That chef is Alan Clarke from Forres, who honed his craft under Shirley Spear at the Three Chimneys on Skye. He heads up Skylark, the hotel’s £5.5 million glass-domed brasserie created as part of a megabucks facelift by the new owners."
After joining Marcliffe, Clarke said: “It is an exciting time for the culinary team, with the recent launch of Skylark Brasserie and The Conservatory restaurant achieving an AA Rosette last year.
"I look forward to building on the hotel’s strong reputation and bringing my own flair to the menus, while continuing to establish Marcliffe as one of Aberdeen’s leading dining destinations."
