Leading Aberdeen-based risk consultancy Marex has announced a further expansion of its technical team with the appointment of two new safety consultants.

Beth McIntosh and Kieran Whyte join the team, which reinforces the company’s capability in technical safety and human factor engineering as part of its continued business growth strategy.

This follows the recent appointments of lifting technical authority Les Smith, and summer intern Lennon Brown who joined the Marex AI team earlier this year.

Beth joins Marex as technical safety and human factors consultant after eight years as a QHSE advisor at Archer. She is currently working towards chartered status with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF), supported by a 12-month mentorship with Marex consultant Tim Southam.

Her appointment further strengthens Marex’s core expertise in applying human factors to workplace safety and operational performance.

Kieran Whyte joins the company as technical safety consultant from Fulcrum Industrial Services, where he previously worked as a functional safety engineer. Kieran brings specialist expertise in functional safety design and risk management across complex industrial assets.

Wayne Henderson, managing director at Marex, said: “We are delighted to welcome Beth and Kieran to the team during an exciting period of growth for Marex.

“Their combined experience in technical safety and human factors - alongside the recent additions of Les and Lennon - brings fresh perspectives, new skills and valuable industry insight to our business.

“Investing in both experienced specialists and early-career talent directly supports our strategic goal to help clients manage risk, improve human performance and build safer working environments.”

The expansion reflects growing demand across energy and hazardous industries for integrated safety engineering and human factors consultancy, ensuring operational systems are designed around real workplace behaviour.
