Parcel delivery group Evri has merged with the UK e-commerce business of DHL to form a UK delivery giant, capable of handling one billion parcels a year.
Evri, formerly known as Hermes UK, was bought by American investment firm, Apollo, in a £2.7billion deal in July 2024. Now DHL Group will buy a significant stake in Evri, allowing it to enter the letter market for the first time.
DHL eCommerce UK is a subsidiary of the DHL Group that provides logistics services for online businesses and cross-border transportation of parcels.
Martijn de Lange, chief executive of Evri, said: “We are excited that DHL eCommerce UK will merge with Evri to bring together two highly complementary UK businesses — committed to innovation and offering customers and clients the best possible service.
“Since Apollo-managed funds came on board as our owners, they have backed our intent to drive forward and grow to become the UK’s premier parcel delivery business.”
