McGinty's Group director Allan Henderson has called on the government to reverse its hospitality tax hikes as figures reveal 84,000 sector jobs have been lost.
Mr Henderson said Rachel Reeves' increase in minimum wage and employer National Insurance contributions has cost McGinty's Group £350,000 and counting.
The group, which owns 10 venues across Aberdeen, has had to halt recruitment plans, restrict opening times and slash staff hours in response, The Press and Journal reports.
It comes as new statistics reveal the hospitality industry has lost 84,000 jobs since the Autumn Budget last year, including 13,000 just last month.
Mr Henderson said that national picture reflects the situation more locally in the North-east and called for action.
He said: “Governments need to help us make sure the industry survives.
“The local pub or restaurant is an integral part of the community. If these places go, communities will suffer.”
