Meet the exciting people behind our member businesses.
Name: Bruce Skinner
Company: ALTO MSSP Ltd
Job title: CEO
Give us the elevator pitch for your business.
ALTO is a managed IT and cybersecurity partner for growing businesses in the North-east. Alongside responsive support, we have a dedicated, proactive team that continuously improves your setup, reduces risk, and plans, with clear roadmaps and practical security measures, so leaders can focus on running the business.
Who are your customers?
We work with SMEs (typically 20–100 staff) across engineering, energy supply chains, and professional services, organisations that rely on Microsoft 365 and need reliable IT, stronger security, and sensible guidance without the jargon.
What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?
Challenge: The pace of cyber threats and AI adoption is accelerating, while many firms lack the time and clarity to keep up.
Opportunity: helping leaders simplify risk, build practical security foundations (and compliance like Cyber Essentials Plus), and use technology, including AI, safely to drive growth.
What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?
Consistency is key! Get the basics right and keep them consistent: secure identities, patching, backups you’ve tested, and staff who know what ‘good’ looks like. Then review risk regularly, not just after an incident. The right partners should give you clarity, not complexity.
What is the best thing about being a Chamber member?
It’s a brilliant way to stay connected to what’s happening in the North-east, and to meet people who are building, hiring and innovating. The relationships, insight and collaboration opportunities help us contribute locally and do better work for clients.
