Rig intake and inspection specialist ModuSpec has secured a contract to support an existing client, representing an estimated £250,000 of revenue.
The award will see multi-staged support provided during the intake process of a 6th generation deepwater drillship in the Black Sea.
The drillship will be engaged by an international oil company in a c.250 day contract commencing later in 2025 after completing a 5-yearly equipment recertification period in South-East Asia.
ModuSpec will deploy a multi-discipline team to review if the drilling, mud, electrical, electronic controls, subsea well control and dynamic positioning systems are being maintained, are in a state of readiness following recertification and are within compliance to commence drilling operations. Acceptance of the drillship will be conducted in the Black Sea, including witnessing subsea deployment and testing of the blow out preventer (BOP).
Mark Watson, operations director with ModuSpec, said: “We have a long and proven track record of supporting the intake of drillships, in particular vessels with newer generation equipment and systems.
"Our client will operate in the Black Sea – an area where ModuSpec has delivered over 45+ projects in the last decade - with our team of multi-discipline surveyors attending first in South-East Asia and subsequently in the Black Sea for the acceptance phase.
"We have worked with our client on multiple projects in the last couple of years and can deliver an effective solution that they know and trust.”
