ModuSpec, a Vysus Group company, is delighted to announce the award of two significant contracts for the provision of rig intake and inspection services, worth approximately £350,000.
The first contract is with an International Oil Company (IOC) to support the intake and acceptance of a 7th generation ultra deepwater drillship, currently in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). ModuSpec will assess the drillship’s condition and level of compliance to the IOC’s corporate policies including drilling, electrical, control, marine, well control and dynamic positioning systems. The ModuSpec team will join the rig in GoM and transit to the Mediterranean Sea to be ready for operations in September.
The second contract is with a National Oil Company (NOC) involving a 5th
generation ultra deepwater drillship due to commence operations in the Mediterranean Sea during August. The scope of work will see a similar scope of work to the first contract, with the addition of assessing the robustness of the drilling contractor’s management systems including health, safety, environmental and crew competency.
Mark Watson, Operations Manager with ModuSpec, said: “The contract awards are with two long-term clients who know ModuSpec and our capabilities. Our approach to rig intake is collaborative and the way we do our business supports what will be challenging and time constrained projects, involving 5th and 7th
generation units. These units are technically complex and we will deliver a project managed service to our clients to ensure efficiencies are found during the intake process and that we work collaboratively with all stakeholders.”
