MRS Training & Rescue has appointed Tori Jennings as the Assistant Operations Manager at its newest training centre at Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.

Tori was promoted to Team Leader in June last year having joined the company in September 2020 as a Trainer and Rescue Operative at its training centre in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. Prior to this she had over 24 years of experience within the commercial and retail sectors in the UK and overseas.

She has relocated to Aberdeen and brings a new dynamic to the team.

Tori says of her appointment, "I am excited to be part of this brand-new team at Aberdeen. Being able to help build this business and expand our presence in Scotland is fantastic. Plus, being able to play a part in developing our new Training and Rescue Operatives is so rewarding.”

MRS Training & Rescue’s history is firmly embedded in the mining industry and the company can trace its roots in Scotland back to 1910, where it supplied a national mines rescue service. It has expanded and diversified, developing its specialist skills, experience and knowledge to meet the needs of today’s health and safety market to deliver rescue services and safety training to modern industry. Specialising in confined space, work at height and first aid, the company continues to provide rescue arrangements to mines across the UK.

Tori’s father and grandfather were miners, so Tori feels she has come home. She says “My family could never have dreamed I would be the one that followed in their footsteps – my three brothers chose a different career path. This used to be a male-dominated environment, but this balance is changing and I am testament to this. We have women employed throughout the organisation in many different roles and hopefully this number will continue to grow in the future.”
