Businesses across North-east Scotland are being offered free specialist support to help protect their innovations, brands and commercial ideas at an upcoming Intellectual Property (IP) Clinic hosted by Murgitroyd in Aberdeen.
The free clinic will take place on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, from 2pm to 5pm at Murgitroyd’s Aberdeen office, with local businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups and innovators invited to book complimentary 30-minute advice sessions with experienced patent and trade mark attorneys.
Open to all, the clinic is designed to provide practical, accessible guidance for businesses looking to better understand and protect the intellectual property that underpins their growth and competitiveness.
Many businesses are already creating valuable intellectual property without fully recognising it, from brands and software to technical processes and product innovation. Whether developing new technology, launching a product, building a brand or exploring opportunities in emerging markets, the sessions will give attendees the opportunity to discuss patents, trade marks, designs, brand protection and wider IP strategy in an informal, no-obligation setting.
The Aberdeen office of Murgitroyd has been supporting businesses across North-east Scotland since 1993, working closely with organisations operating in sectors including energy, renewables, engineering, manufacturing and technology. The team combines deep sector knowledge with extensive intellectual property expertise to help businesses protect and commercialise innovation both in the UK and internationally.
The clinic is intended to make expert IP advice more accessible to businesses of all sizes, whether at an early stage of development or preparing to expand into new markets.
Intellectual property can play an important role in supporting growth, attracting investment and helping businesses maintain a competitive advantage.
