Music 4 U, a pioneering organisation providing inclusive performing arts classes, is thrilled to announce its 18th birthday celebration on December 12, 2023.

Established as a Scottish registered charity in 2005, Music 4 U has been a beacon of hope for children and young people facing challenges such as loneliness, exclusion, isolation, physical and learning disabilities, poor mental health, and social and financial deprivation. Despite recent financial challenges, the organisation, led by Founder and Creative Director Debra Baxter, continues to provide crucial support and opportunities for its young participants.

To commemorate this milestone, Music 4 U has launched the 1.8 Challenge throughout December, inviting supporters to join the cause and contribute to the organisation's ongoing mission. Music 4 U offers fully integrated music and theatre workshops for individuals aged 3 to 25 in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. These workshops foster inclusivity and integration, encouraging participants to understand, learn, help, and support each other through the transformative power of song, dance, and theatre.

"Our participants lead enriched lives, with increased employability, empathy, and quality of life," says Debra Baxter. "We've witnessed the positive impact of our programs on young people and their families over the past 18 years."

As the Charity looks ahead to 2024, Music 4 U invites potential corporate partners to consider supporting their cause. Donna Deans, Corporate Fundraising Officer, can be reached at donna.deans@m4u.org.uk for inquiries.

Music 4 U is a registered Trinity Arts Award Centre, allowing young people to work towards accredited qualifications while participating in workshops and performances. With 12 classes per week for 50 weeks a year, Music 4 U has conducted over 500 public performances across Scotland since its inception.
