Two humanitarian scholarships to support postgraduate students impacted by armed conflict have been launched by the University of Aberdeen.

Available from September 2026, the scholarships are open to postgraduate applicants who have excelled in their studies while their education has been disrupted due to armed conflict.

The scholarships will cover all academic and accommodation fees, as well as providing students with a stipend for living expenses.

Applicants will be eligible for the one-year scholarships if they hold an offer from the University of Aberdeen.

Professor Jason Bohan, Dean for Student Support and Experience, said: “We are delighted to launch these two Humanitarian Scholarships at the University. The impact of armed conflict can be devastating and we’re proud to be able to offer this support to those in need.”

Nick Edwards, Chief People & Student Officer, said: “The University of Aberdeen has a long-standing commitment to supporting scholars and students who are at risk in their home country. These scholarships will complement our existing portfolio to provide support for talented international students whose studies have been disrupted due to conflict.”

Applications to the scholarships will open on 13 July and close on 31 July.
