North-east financial advisers are on the ball

Sporty North-east youngsters have received a boost ahead of the new football season thanks to backing from a team of city-based financial advisers.

Scott James Wealth Management (SJWM), an appointed representative of St James’s Place Wealth Management, has announced its support for East End Lewis Youth (2007) and Stonehaven Youth FC’s girls’ under-13 side.

As part of the agreement, the company has provided branded tracksuits for East End Lewis Youth that the boys can wear on matchday and for travelling between games. The team, which plays its home matches games at New Advocates Park, Golf Road, got its league campaign underway in late August.

SJWM has also provided Stonehaven Youth with new matchday strips and tracksuit tops that carry the company’s name and logo. The club is split into two seven-a-side teams at this level, with Stonehaven Fire playing in the North u13s Kim Little League and Stonehaven Reign competing in the North u13s Claire Emslie League.

The season runs from March to November with both sides turning out for home matches at the town’s Mineralwell Park. It is Stonehaven Reign’s first season in competitive football but, with the season beyond the halfway point, coach Graeme Stuart is pleased with the team’s performance.

He said: “We have a talented group of girls here and I’ve been impressed with how both sides have acquitted themselves so far. Our aims for this season are to finish as high as possible with Stonehaven Fire and for the Stonehaven Reign team to continue to develop in the girls’ first competitive season.

“Sponsorship takes some of the pressure off the club by helping us provide new strips and training equipment for the players. We’re extremely grateful to Scott and his team for their support and I look forward to getting to know each other better and developing this relationship.”

Scott James commented: “Living in Stonehaven, I was keen to give something back to the local community while my nephew Jake plays for East End Lewis Youth. It’s great to have been able to support both teams in this way and we wish them all the very best of luck for this season.

“Their teamwork, commitment and determination to improve are all qualities we recognise within our own company, and that’s why we are delighted to support them to achieve their goals.”

Established in 2015, Scott James Wealth Management supports clients and their families to protect and enhance their wealth through sound financial advice, predominantly covering Aberdeen City and Shire, Angus and Perthshire.

The company is also a proud supporter of Aberdeen FC and has renewed its sponsorship of top scorer Sam Cosgrove for the 2019-20 season.

Away from football, SJWM also backs Buchan Lightning, part of the Buchan Netball Club that competes in the Aberdeen District Netball Association Division Five, and sponsors the Mackie Minis annual tournament, organised by Mackie Academy FP RFC.
