North East Scotland College's vision is to be a college that transforms lives and supports regional development. This will continue to be achieved through the provision of inspirational and innovative teaching, high quality services and facilities, and flexible and accessible courses responsive to the needs of both employers and the communities the college serves.

The college enrols over 18,500 learners each year, employs 700 staff, and operates with an annual budget of c£47m.

The regional board is responsible for overseeing the business of the college, determining its strategic direction and fostering a safe environment in which the college’s vision is achieved and the potential of all learners is maximised.

The college is currently seeking to appoint board members for an initial term of office of up to four years.

To complement the existing skills mix of the board, applications are particularly welcomed from individuals with professional skills and experience in:

  • Accountancy/Legal
  • Architecture/Estates
  • Entrepreneurship/Enterprise
  • Health
  • Hospitality
  • Third Sector
  • Travel and Tourism.

Members have access to ongoing support and training to assist their development as a NESCol board member. Applicants do not therefore need to have previous experience of being a member of a board.

The post is voluntary and non-remunerated, however relevant expenses will be reimbursed.
