Members of the Northwood Aberdeen team have been living life in the adventurous lane this month whilst raising vital funds for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland. Four of their fabulous team members headed down to Glasgow on Saturday (September 17) to take on ‘Riverside Zipslide The Clyde’ – a 150 foot adrenaline adventure launching from a crane beside the Riverside Museum. They enjoyed it so much they did it twice! Director, Laura Mearns said, “This was an incredible experience with a few screams along the way but taking on this challenge to raise money for a charity close to my heart means so much”

To challenge themselves further they opted to cycle the distance between each of the Scottish Northwood offices – Inverurie – Aberdeen – Dundee – Edinburgh – Falkirk – Glasgow – and back again (340 miles). A bike has been set up in the Northwood Aberdeen reception and the team are pedalling the streets on their own bikes after work too. “Anything to rack up those miles and achieve our challenge, it’s a real team effort”, said Juliet McPherson, Lettings Manager of Northwood Aberdeenshire.

They surpassed their target amount of £650 in sponsorships and to date have raised an incredible £1245 from the combined fundraisers.

It’s not too late to sponsor them as they continue their cycling journey. Any donations are greatly appreciated and can be made here:

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland believe no one in Scotland should be left alone to cope with the affects of spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.

This year it will cost over £1.4 million to provide our extensive range of specialist services and with little statutory funding they need our help to continue to provide their services, free of charge, to over 3500 children, young people and adults across Scotland.
