Leading North-east estate and lettings agency Northwood has promoted Alicja Higgins to senior property manager.

Alicja’s interest in property was first piqued when she undertook a work placement with Northwood while studying Law and Management at The Robert Gordon University. She was offered a job and joined the team in 2019.

Her first role with the company was as a Property Assistant, later becoming a Property Co-ordinator before being promoted to Property Manager.

During her six years with the company, Alicja has successfully completed the LETWELL qualification with Landlord Accreditation Scotland and gained a deeper understanding of different aspects of property management ranging from tenant relations to maintenance and compliance.

Northwood Founder and Director Laura Mearns described Alicja as ‘an absolute asset to the team’ who always goes over and above for her clients.

“Since joining Northwood, Alicja has proven herself to be a dedicated, diligent and very important and popular member of the team,” said Laura.

“She has worked very hard over the years and has proven herself to be an excellent lettings agent, who works hard to build and ensure positive relationships with both tenants and landlords and investors, many of whom value and respect her guidance greatly.

“Alicja is also bilingual, fluent in both Polish and English and communicates daily in both languages with our Polish landlords, tenants, and contractors, which has been a great advantage for us. She very much deserves this recognition, and we are all delighted for her.”

Alicja said she was excited and ready to take on her new role.

“Working in property is interesting and rewarding, as well as challenging at times! There has been a lot to learn over the years, but the team at Northwood has always been very supportive and encouraged me to keep learning and developing.

“I love working with the tenants and helping them to find their dream property – it’s one of my favourite parts of the job. I am very much looking forward to developing the role, taking on more responsibilities, and growing my experience. It’s an exciting time.”
