Aberdeen’s country house hotel in the city, the Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel, has been shortlisted in two prestigious wedding awards. In the inaugural Creative Oceanic Hotel Awards Scotland, the hotel is a finalist in the Romantic Hotel of the Year category, while in the well-known VOWS Awards, Norwood is shortlisted to win Wedding Venue of the Year.
Recognising hotels and wedding venues across Scotland that deliver customer service of the highest standards, both awards are voted for by the public, and based on the experiences of venue guests.
Wedding sales manager for Norwood, Julie Love, said: “We are really pleased to be finalists in these two awards – and in particular to be the the only venue from Aberdeen City in the VOWS shortlist. Norwood Hall is steeped in history and romance – the perfect setting for a wedding day to remember. Couples are drawn to our stunning period architecture, roaring log fires and secluded private grounds, and we’re delighted that their wedding day experiences led them to vote for us, and get us to this exciting shortlisted stage.”
The venue is no stranger to wedding awards, having won a hat trick of honours in 2017 with Wedding Venue of the Year titles at the Scottish VOWS Awards, Top Tier Awards and Scottish Wedding Awards respectively. The hotel was similarly successful last year at the Top Tier Awards, winning Wedding Venue Co-ordinator and being highly commended for Wedding Venue of the Year.
Category winners in the Hotel Awards Scotland will be announced at a black-tie event at the Glasgow Marriot Hotel on Tuesday, October 1, while the VOWS Awards winners will be unveilied on Monday, November 18, at the Doubeltree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
