Oil prices have risen again in early Monday trading as Donald Trump branded the Iranian response to peace talks "totally unacceptable".
Iranian news reports the nation's response, which was sent via mediator Pakistan, called for an immediate end to conflict with guarantees of no further US or Israeli attacks on Iran.
Following the US President's reaction, which he posted on social media, oil prices rose in Monday morning trade in Asia, with international oil benchmark Brent rising by 4.1% to $105.50 (£77.60) a barrel, and US-traded crude increasing by 4.4% to $99.80, the BBC reports.
Trump's social media post on the matter read: "I have just read the response from Iran's so-called 'Representatives.' I don't like it - TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE."
Media in the US reported its terms for peace included the reopening of transit through the Strait of Hormuz and the suspension of nuclear enrichment in Iran.
Israel has also demanded Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles are "taken out".
Oil prices soared at the commencement of the war and have remained extremely volatile since, with Iran blocking transit through the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20% of the world's oil supplies are transported.
