P&J Live joins other live event venues from throughout the UK to participate in the industry’s most ambitious social initiative yet.

One Day at Christmas, a free event this Friday 5th December 2025, will see the live events industry come together to host a festive Christmas dinner and community celebration for more than 3,500 vulnerable and isolated people from their local communities.

Aberdeen’s One Day at Christmas team made up of staff from P&J Live, has worked closely alongside local charities VSA, AFC Community Trust, TLC Aberdeen, Aberdeen Linking Lives and the Mamacita Foundation to invite 80 special guests to the venue this Friday.

The 2025 event marks a significant milestone for One Day at Christmas, welcoming ten participating venues - the largest ever number of venues, including the debut of P&J Live and Tobacco Dock in London.

Further amplifying the campaign’s reach, much-loved broadcaster and host of Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley, has officially lent his support, hosting the central event at Excel London. His involvement underscores the national importance of the initiative, which has already served over 10,000 meals since its inception in 2017.

Julian Agostini, founder of On Day at Christmas, said: “This event is the ultimate showcase of heart and capability of the UK events industry. When we say no one should feel alone at Christmas, we mean it. Expanding to ten major venues, from Aberdeen to London, demonstrates the sheer cooperation and determination of the industry to give back.”

One day at Christmas is unique because it is entirely powered by the events and exhibition community. P&J Live is donating the venue space, all catering by its in-house culinary team, all volunteers and a gift for each guest. The collective effort aimed and tackling the UK’s loneliness epidemic, which affects millions of adults.

Claire-Lena Miller-Davis, senior business development manager (Exhibitions & Events) at P&J Live and lead One Day at Christmas Aberdeen organiser, said: “We had heard about this wonderful initiative within the industry, and were keen to get involved to give back to our own local community. We are used to delivering a wide range of events throughout the year, so to be able to put our skills to good use while helping the vulnerable and isolated is something we felt strongly about.”

Agostini added: “This is more than just a festive meal; it’s about providing connection, community, and dignity for those who need it most. We are ready to help show the nation what true Christmas spirit looks like.”
