The popular community farmer's market is set to return to Aberdeen’s West End for its third consecutive year, offering a monthly boost to local independent businesses starting this April.

Operating on the first Sunday of each month from April through September, the West End Farmers' Market is a joint venture organised by Fountainhall Church, Café at the Church, and Café Cognito. This initiative was launched to nurture the community spirit and engagement in the neighbourhood and to provide a direct-to-consumer platform for small, local enterprises.

Since its creation, the market has seen steady growth, complementing the existing Sunday foot traffic from the church congregation and café visitors. It now draws nearly 1,000 visitors per event and hosts an average of 20 stalls featuring a wide variety of locally sourced goods, including fresh meat, fish, cheese, honey, jams and granola , oatcakes and locally produced artisan breads and baking.

This season will also introduce a new feature: an expanded market on Sunday 5th July hosted in collaboration with the RARE Makers Market. This one-off summer extension will showcase the work of Aberdeenshire artists, makers, and creatives, offering visitors a chance to purchase original textiles, jewellery, prints, ceramics, and homeware alongside the traditional food stalls.

The first West End Farmers’ Market of 2026 will take place on Sunday 5 April in the back garden of Fountainhall Church at the Cross, Albyn Place, from 10 am to 1pm. For any enquiries regarding the market or the stalls , visit www.facebook.com/farmersmarketqueenscross/
