As the UK prepares to implement the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, widely known as Martyn’s Law, organisations across Aberdeen are turning to Rob Diver, ex-police and now Head of Risk & Resilience at Integrity HSE, to ensure their security arrangements remain legally compliant.

Named in memory of Martyn Hett, a victim of the 2017 Manchester Arena attack, the legislation introduces a two-tiered approach based on venue capacity, requiring practical yet effective counter-terrorism measures.

Standard Duty sites (200–799 people) must adopt basic precautions, while Enhanced Duty sites (800+ people) face more rigorous requirements.

Whilst there is a 24-month window for implementation, Mr Diver emphasises the importance of early engagement: “I welcome the introduction of this law, and there is little doubt that it will save lives.

"Preparedness is not just about compliance, it’s about a wider social responsibility and we are helping clients develop clear, actionable plans to exceed the standard and build confidence among their teams and visitors.”

As Martyn’s Law ushers in a new era of public safety, Rob Diver and Integrity HSE stand ready to support the North-east’s response: proactively, professionally, and with purpose. Organisations seeking guidance can contact Rob Diver’s team at Integrity HSE by emailing enquiries@integrityhse.co.uk or calling 01224 679950.
