Global risk consultancy, AKE International is running a one-day Travel Safety Training course in Aberdeen on May 23.

AKE team member, Claire Fleming, explains why now is the time to re-introduce this popular course to Aberdeen.

“Geopolitical events in recent weeks have again highlighted the importance of preparing personnel to travel or deploy for work purposes.

This is the first 1-Day Travel Safety Training course we have run in person in Aberdeen for a few years now, and this updated version takes into account the repercussions of CV19 and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

It is always fascinating to hear the experiences of the classes we teach here in Aberdeen - from seasoned personnel on rotation in West Africa to early career personnel booking team travel - and c-suite teams travelling for business, there is always a great mix of delegates to generate discussion and enhance the learning experience.”

The one-day course is designed to address duty of care responsibilities and tackle the evolving security and safety risks faced by overseas travellers. It raises general awareness and equips delegates with the knowledge and skills to identify threats and mitigate the associated risks that present themselves while travelling to and working overseas.

The course covers essential topics including; planning and self-sufficiency, personal security principles, health risks, high impact events, cultural awareness and managing conflict.

Delegates will receive a certificate and complimentary access to AKE’s country risk platform Global Intake for one month.
