Throughout September and October, the University of Aberdeen ran four Careers Fairs which were attended by over 2,000 students and 134 exhibitors.
The events included three sector fairs, Law Fair, Energy and Engineering Fair and Business and Finance Fair and the Part-Time Jobs Fair. Each event connected students with organisations promoting their opportunities. Overall, each event was deemed a great success with increased numbers of exhibitors and attendees compared to last year.
Exhibitors ranged from private and public companies to not-for-profit organisations and university departments. Active recruitment took place during the events and feedback highlighted the events were a great opportunity to raise awareness of the organisations and their vacancies. Employer feedback was very positive, noting that students were prepared and enthusiastic.
Students were pleased to attend the events and learn about internships and graduate vacancies and discuss their career ideas with exhibitors.
Planning is underway for the 2026 series of careers fairs, beginning with the Volunteering Fair on the 19th of February.
