Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) by Isobel McArthur after Jane Austen, will return to Scotland following a hugely successful West End run at the Criterion Theatre where it won the prestigious Olivier Award for Best Comedy, with a run of shows at Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Theatre from Thursday, October 13 – Saturday, October 15.

Glasgow’s Tron Theatre originally commissioned a 28 year-old Isobel McArthur to write this unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen’s classic love story in 2018. It was performed at the Lyceum in Edinburgh and had a short UK tour before opening in the West End in 2021. Pride & Prejudice* (*Sort Of) is the first Tron commissioned show to win an Olivier Award.

Men, money and microphones will be fought over in this irreverent but affectionate adaptation where the stakes couldn’t be higher when it comes to romance. The show features a string of pop classics including Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow and You’re So Vain. It’s the 1800s. It’s party time. Let the ruthless matchmaking begin.

The cast of the award winning West End and Tron Theatre production have been reunited. Olivier Award winning writer and director Isobel McArthur (National Theatre of Scotland, Tron Theatre, Traverse Theatre Edinburgh) once again plays Darcy and Mrs Bennet. Also in the cast are the Olivier Award nominated Tori Burgess (The Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, Traverse, Lemon Tree, Tron Theatre) as Lydia and Mr Collins; Olivier Award nominated Christina Gordon (The Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, National Theatre of Scotland, Dundee Rep) as Lady Catherine de Bourgh and Jane; BroadwayWorld.com Award winner and Stage Debut Awards nominee Hannah Jarrett-Scott (The Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, Sherman Theatre, Tron Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Gilded Baloon) as Charlotte Lucas and Charles Bingley and Leah Jamieson who made her West End debut in Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) at the Criterion Theatre as Lizzie Bennet,
