Marine Technical Limits has appointed Marcelo Cadena as Principal Naval Architect. A Brazilian national, he brings 13 years experience in the oil and gas industry in South America.

Marcelo started work as a Class surveyor, spending the first ten years of his career visiting ships and offshore units for Lloyd’s Register and DNV.

More recently he worked for an international FPSO operator as a senior marine compliance engineer and for a Brazilian independent oil and gas operator as naval lead.

His arrival adds additional senior-level marine compliance expertise to our expanding team of naval architects and he has immediately started to provide support for ongoing risk-based inspection projects in Brazil.

By bringing his knowledge of FPSO integrity management, inspection and repair, Marcelo will enable MTL to take on more marine engineering and hull structural integrity projects as demand for those services increases.

His links with Brazil will help strengthen our relationships with clients in that part of the world and build our reach into new geographical markets.

Marcelo said, “I’m delighted to be part of such a strong and experienced team. MTL has a very open culture where engineers work closely with leadership to provide excellent service to clients. My main focus is on integrity management and there are increasing opportunities to work on interesting and challenging projects.”
