Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce has opened its Q2 Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) in partnership with Gilson Gray LLP.

The QES remains a key barometer of business confidence and performance across Aberdeen and the wider North-east, capturing how companies are performing and the challenges they face as we move further into 2026.

This quarter’s survey comes at a particularly important time for businesses. Q1 results reflected sentiment before the escalation of conflict in the Middle East and the wider global uncertainty that has followed, including continued concern around energy prices, inflationary pressures and business costs. With fuel prices remaining a concern and confidence already fragile earlier in the year, the Q2 findings will provide an important picture of how firms now feel about the economic outlook for the remainder of 2026.

The survey also comes as businesses continue to navigate rising labour costs, taxation pressures, recruitment challenges and weaker demand across several sectors of the regional economy.

Participants are asked whether they have seen an increase, decrease, or no change in key indicators such as sales, cash flow, investment and recruitment activity. The survey also explores the wider challenges affecting firms, including operating costs, confidence and barriers to growth.

By taking part, businesses can ensure their voice is heard and help shape the evidence used to influence decision-makers at local and national levels.
