Requesting assistance to find out more of its history

Raemoir House, magnificent in stature yet so welcoming in atmosphere, first opened its doors to guests in 1943. Initially it was a place of sanctuary for Londoners during the final years of the war, becoming known as the Claridges of the North and the Scottish getaway hotel of choice for field sports enthusiasts and the London theatre set to the present day of going back to its roots as Royal Deeside's premier exclusive use venue welcoming all manner of private and corporate parties and events. 2018 is the 75th year of Raemoir's existence for serving the public and the current owners are eager to find out as much as they can about past years.

Mhairi Morriss who assist owners Neil and Julie Rae with their marketing and events explained "Raemoir is such an extraordinary house, it holds a special place in many people's hearts whether they enjoy coming here as a guest or having worked here. I think of Raemoir as a grand old lady who takes care of whoever walks through her doors, but unfortunately, she is not one for gossip, keeping the secrets of those within to herself".

Mhairi went on further "We are endeavouring to find out as much as we can about Raemoir's history and would like to talk to people who may have memories and stories from years gone by, any memorabilia or photographs would be fantastic."

Of course, we couldn't possibly name them but royalty, rock stars, actors, celebrities and politicians have all come and gone over the years but Raemoir's guest book, fondly known as The Big Book, still sits at the main entrance has been attracting comments since 1949.

If only the walls could talk!
