Residence Inn by Marriott Aberdeen celebrates first month of business with winter event

Aberdeen’s newest hotel, Residence Inn by Marriott, celebrated its official opening last night with a special winter-themed event to mark welcoming more than 1,500 guests in its first month of business.

The property, which is part of the Marischal Square development by Muse Developments, opened in October 2017 following two years of construction and a multi-million pound investment.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony was carried out this week, with guests enjoying entertainment and lighting displays in the hotel’s terrace which overlooks the historic Provost Skene’s House.

Residence Inn Aberdeen is the first city-centre hotel dedicated to the extended-stay market and its 126 well-appointed suites offer guests a home-away-from-home experience with fully equipped kitchen facilities and comfortable living and sleeping areas.

Guests also benefit from a 24-hour lobby, buffet breakfast, restaurant and Wi-Fi access, as well as extra perks such as an on-site Grab’n Go market, shopping delivery service, gym facilities, and a free self-service laundry facility – catering perfectly to longer stays.

And for those looking to socialise or network, regular Residence Mix nights with drinks and canapés in the reception area will create a welcoming, community atmosphere.

Chris Wayne-Wills, north cluster general manager at Marriott, said: “We have been very encouraged by the response to our latest property in Aberdeen which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of business and leisure visitors who want to enjoy home from home accommodation in a fantastic city centre location.

“We’d like to thank everyone who came along to celebrate with us and we look forward to welcoming guests to more memorable events in the future.”

Residence Inn is the fourth Marriott International hotel in the city, joining the existing Aberdeen Marriott Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen Airport and MOXY Aberdeen Airport.
