Solab IT Services’ market-leading integrated crew management software, Onboard Tracker™, has been awarded contracts worth more than £3million after a sharp uptick in work in the renewables sector.
The seven-figure sum has been secured since the beginning of this year, sparking an ongoing recruitment drive to grow the current headcount by 15%. The move is part of Solab founder Kevin Coll’s long-term vision to create high-quality digital and technology jobs in the North-east.
International growth has also been key to the year’s success so far, with 40% of the company’s turnover now coming from out with the UK. The year to date has also seen increased levels of work in Brazil, South America and Africa, with clients added in Central USA and Alaska. With a strong foothold in the European market, including Norway, Denmark, Poland, Germany and the Netherlands, the company has now set its sights on enhancing its foothold in Asia where it has experienced increasing demand.
Whilst the energy sector remains a stronghold Onboard Tracker™, a careful diversification strategy has brought 25% of recent contract wins from the renewables sphere. Looking ahead, this will be a major area for growth while aspirations to expand further in the nuclear sector will further solidify Onboard Tracker™’s multi-discipline application.
Onboard Tracker™ is a world-class Software as a Service (SaaS) digital crew management platform and supports 150,000+ energy, renewables, and marine personnel, in 110+ countries, across 8000+ on and offshore sites. Commenting on recent activity, business development manager, Emily Reid said: “We are seeing strengthening and deepening of contracts as clients renew for longer terms than before because they feel safe and secure in the services they receive from us. For many, our innovative solutions have become fundamental to what they do and are embedded in their operations, as well as being cost-effective, so they’re locking in for longer.
“Our road map for future development is also a key motivator because our clients know that we’re always looking ahead and flexing what we do to stay on point with customer and industry needs. It’s so rewarding to see our team continuing to expand, and we are delighted to be able to grow the region’s opportunities when it comes to offering highly skilled technical, operational and commercial roles.”
