A go-karting event organised by Robertson Construction Eastern has delivered a financial boost to The Archie Foundation.

The high-octane challenge saw teams go head-to-head in a driving challenge in a bid to raise funds for the local children’s charity. Over £10,560 was raised by the event, which took place at Deeside Activity Park on Sunday, September 3.

14 teams raced to win the prize for the team which completed the most laps, while honour was at stake as participating drivers also sought to record the fastest lap time.

Gordon Milne, Regional Managing Director, Robertson Construction Eastern, said: An important part of what we do is to support the communities where we work. The fact that we were able to bring together our supply chain partners and our team to support The Archie Foundation, and the work that it does to support children and their families throughout North Scotland, meant that everyone involved benefitted from the day.

“There was a great deal of competitive spirit on show throughout the challenge and we are thankful to key members of the supply chain, FES Group, WM Donald, General and Technical Flooring Services and John Duncan Plant Hire, who helped to sponsor the event. Their generosity and support has contributed greatly to the total which we know will be used to help families across the North of Scotland.”

Lynne Brooks, Partnerships Manager at The Archie Foundation, said “We’re always incredibly grateful to our supporters for the work they do on our behalf. We’d like to thank our friends at Robertson Construction for taking the time to organise the go-karting event to raise funds for The Archie Foundation.

“The money we receive goes directly to benefit children and families when they need it most.

“This includes the redecoration of the outpatients department at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, our emergency grants which support families struggling with the unexpected costs of caring for their child and well as our child bereavement service. The funds which are raised for us are vital in helping us to help children and families throughout North Scotland.”
